Seasons 52

We went out to dinner tonight with some friends.  We tried a new restaurant (to me) Seasons 52

The Seasons 52 menu is seasonally-inspired with the fresh appeal of the farmer’s market. It represents a unique blend of art and science, with creative offerings designed to excite and surprise the palate.
They feature dining choices that are thoughtfully prepared and in appropriate portion sizes. So their
guests feel the freedom to indulge in a complete dining experience, including their custom flatbreads and signature mini-indulgence desserts, while still feeling good about themselves and their dining choices.

They use natural cooking techniques such as wood-fire grilling, brick-oven cooking and caramelizing vegetables to let the natural flavors shine through. And they execute precision with seasoning, and oil with control and care to ensure just the right amount is used to bring out the great flavor profiles. An added benefit to this style is that our menu items are naturally lower in calories. In fact, they make a promise that nothing on their menu is over 475 calories. The result is great tasting, highly satisfying food that just so happens to be good for you!  And then you can even indulge in these mini desserts!  Just enough for your sweet tooth.  Blueberry Cheesecake and Oren Cookie Mouse and many more that I can't even remember, but they all are served just like this.

I had a wonderful Tiger Shrimp Penne Pasta and market vegetables sautéed in a lemon-basil sauce with Parmesan cheese.  Delicious!
My husband had Fieldale Farms All-Natural BBQ Chicken with Yukon Gold garlic mashed potatoes and fresh roasted corn saladOur friends had Wood-Roasted Pork Tenderloin with herb polenta, broccoli, cremini mushrooms and shallot-Dijon glaze.
Well I thought the whole dining experience was excellent.  The staff was engaging and friendly, and couldn't do enough.
I think they have restaurants in other areas.  I recommend you try them if you ever get the chance.

Well my husband just left for his sleep study.  He has sleep apnea, and tonight they are going to try this breathing machine on him.  He never feels rested when he gets up in the morning and this machine will help him get a good nights sleep.  Sleep Apnea is not good for your heart.  I just hope he can get use to this machine on his nose!

Dark after light

Ok, I think I need to get some work done!  Have an awesome day.

Sometimes we just need a day.....

I can't believe it has been a week since I have posted!  I have been a bad blogger friend.  I am sorry. But I just wanted to tell you about a day I just needed to take, A Beauty Day.  It has been 6 months since I had my wonderful vacation accident, that being said, it has also been 6 months since I have had a Mani & pedi.  With my ankle being so sensitive I have been hesitant to get a pedi.  I should have had a Mani but I just didn't want to spend the money.  But today was the day!  I had my hair cut and highlighted and then my Mani and pedi, and I loved every minute of it.  Sometimes we just need to pamper ourselves.

Rather Picturesque

home is where your heart is

It was a wonderful day even though it was down pouring outside. Had a nice dinner with the hubby and now the day is over.  Tomorrow is another day....
Hope you all had a nice day wherever you are.

Life in the fast lane.....

I would really love to post something every day, but I seem to run out of time.  I love reading every one's post and by the time I am done reading, I am out of time.  So I will just do a run through  what has been going on around here.

Sunday we went to our Son and daughter's in laws house in the city for her birthday dinner.  It was the first time I had seen their apartment since they moved in October.  They live on the third floor and I couldn't manage the steps until now.  It was so nice, perfect for them.  It is quaint and has so many great little features.  It is a brownstone that was made into apartments.  I just don't think I could deal with the traffic every day.  They just love it, and it is a wonderful area in Rittenhouse Square.  Dinner was delicious and it is always nice to get together with the family.

Tudo o que

Monday I had a wonderful massage!  I had a gift certificate from Christmas that I was dying to use but I have been afraid to go because of my ankle.  I thought what the hay.  I just told her not to work in that area, it is still very tender.  And it was lovely!

I came home and hubby was putting the tile up in our laundry room.  I am so excited to be almost done with that room.  I think it looks great.

Tuesday I had therapy and I really tried to push hard with my exercises.  After dinner we went out to walk.  Some of our neighbors were walking and it's so much more fun walking with other people.  It really makes the time go faster.  You get to catch up on the news in the community.  By the time we were done walking I was really limping.  I think I did a little too much that day.

That brings us to today, Wednesday.  I had a doctor's apt. this morning.  Hubby finished grouting the tile and I started to get my new printer out of the box.  Oh my, after I put it together I started to read the quick start manual and I was lost.  Time to invite one of my son's to dinner!  No. 1 son said he would come to dinner and of course he would get my printer started for me, (thank God)!  We had a lovely dinner and he is very excited about going to the Phillies home opener on Friday.  I hope he dresses warm, because now it is calling for rain & SNOW!  Come on, it's April!!!  We have two storms headed our way!  What about the groundhog and his shadow?

My office is almost done.  I still can't find fabric/drapes for the windows that I like or that is reasonable enough.  Also still looking for a bulletin board.  Pictures soon to come.

Great evening....

Well I cleaned the house, made my sauce, made dessert, picked up the wine, flowers and bread and set my table.  It was just a casual dinner for a few people that we wanted to have over for a while.
I decided to make meat balls, sausage and I also made a small pork roast to put in the sauce, so there was plenty of food.

The menu:
Baked Ziti
Meat Balls, sausage & pork
Salad
Bread
and Banana Cream Pudding for dessert
Wine

It was just a casual gathering so no china or crystal.  I did use my new Ralph Lauren tablecloth that I picked up at Marshall's for $12!

We had a wonderful time.  Great wine, good food and awesome company.
But I will say, I did sleep well that night!  I was exhausted.

We all need to do this more often.  Sometimes we forget to make time for friends and it is so important to keep up friendships.  These people helped us so much when I had my accident.  They made us dinner, walked Jake in the middle of the day and so much more.  They are good friends!

Fun Weekend

Well hello all, I hope everyone had a nice weekend! We did, we traveled to Townsend's Inlet, in New Jersey to visit my sister in law and brother in law. My husbands brother. We are so fortunate to have family that we love getting together with, and they open their lovely home to us. We arrived Friday evening and had some cocktails and snacks.
Andy and Nancy have a lovely home.  We always have out yearly family reunion's here.
Saturday we went out to breakfast at Ricks and then over to the mainland to do some shopping.  They are having some bookcases built and we were on the hunt for items to fill in after the books are placed.

The bottom doors and drawers are not on the unit yet.  It is still in progress and I will definitely show you the finished product later this spring.  We hit some Antique shops and the Wicker store.  The wicker store has some very reasonable pottery and bird houses that I of course picked up for my office, which is also in progress.
After that it was so nice outside we decided to sit on the deck and enjoy the sun.

We went out to dinner at a fun bar, Yesterdays, outside Ocean City.  They have the best Martini's!  We were planning to go to the movies, but we were having such a good time, we decided not to go.

Sunday was a relaxing day.  We decided to go for a walk on the beach.  It was so windy that you can see the sand blowing in the pictures, well almost.

They have adopted the cutest little schnauzer.  His name is Sam.  He is only 12 weeks old, and so far he loves the beach.  He was covered in sand from the wind by the time we were done walking.
Sunday evening was the Academy awards of course, which was kind of a disappointment.  I think they need a seasoned host who can ad lib when something funny happens.  Just my opinion.

Monday we headed home.  All in all, it was a relaxing weekend with good friends.  Friday I will be heading back down for our ladies weekend.  It will be sister in laws, cousins, daughters, and daughter in laws.  We have the T Ladies weekend every year in March.  We shop, eat, movies, and of course drink some wine.  It is so nice to just relax and catch up with each other.  That will be another blog.

Talk to you all soon,

Susan
