The New Office

Well Happy Saturday everyone!  I have to get myself going.  Did not sleep well last night.  Too excited about making an office in our spare room.  It would be my "Lady Cave".  I have a beautiful cherry desk that I am working with now.  I would like to purchase two tall bookcases to flank the sides of it.  This is my big question.  I can't decide if my color for those should be black or white.  The color of the room is kind of yellowish/gold.  I would like to put in a chair and another long table for crafting, sewing etc.  I have an old buffet that I could use that for, and I would like to paint it as well.  OK, this is the question.  What color should those extra pieces ( shelves and buffet ) be, black or white?  Do I want to black and sophisticated or white and girlie?  Any sugestions ladies?  I could really use your help.

I am so happy Harper is doing well!  I am glad you took the little princess shopping.  She looks like she loved it!  Girls are so much fun.

Company coming today.  I have to get up and get ready.  I just can't seem to grab the energy I need.  I don't know why I feel so tired, It is not like I have been doing anything besides exercising my leg and ankle. 
My sister in law and brother in law are coming to watch the football game.  Nancy is bringing soup and we are also having pizza.  Easy things, but good ones.  Stocked with beer and wine.  I have a couple of good recipes for apps from the Barefoot Contessa that I would like to make.

The Versatile Blogger

award!  Now I have to tell you 7 things about me that you don't know.
Let's see, where to start.

#1~ I love the beach....

We have a house that is owned by family, so we are always down there when we get a few days off together.

#2 ~  I love to shop, even if I don't spend any money!  Shopping to me is like making love, you love to look, feel, and touch the fabric!  Men are hunters, they go in the store and buy exactly what they need and go.  Women are gatherers, they like to look at everything and make sure they are getting the best deal.  The more colors we see the stronger we get!  This was said in a show we saw a few years ago, "Defending the Caveman".  Awesome show, if you ever get a chance
to see it...please go!



#3  I am always on a diet!


I love anything home made, anything chocolate, and gummy bears!

That is why I am always on a diet.  I have such a sweet tooth.

#4 ~ Love reading fashion and decorating magazines.






I love decorating.  One of my favorite stores for this is Home Goods.
They seem to have everything.  Great place to pick up a little gift for someone as well.  I still love fashion, even if I am older.  I love to put things together and making a great outfit.  My claim to fame in high school, I was given the "Best Dressed Award".  Some things you just never forget!

# 5 ~ I love to see women with nice nails.  They don't have to be long, just well groomed.


# 6 ~ I love reading a good love story, a biography, or mystery.  I have thought about getting one of those electronic readers.  Everyone who has bought one love it.  I still love turning the pages of a good book.



# 7 ~  Family  ~ is very important to me, as you already know by the pictures that I have posted.  This is a picture from our youngest son's wedding.

Writing

I have been meaning to say this, I am so impressed with the bloggers that I have been following.  You are all such good writers!  I am in awe. I would love to be able to write.  When I sit down to write, I just don't feel it is as good as some of y'all!  My mind seems to go blank, my spelling is awful, thank goodness for spell check!  I think writing is such a gift.  So you all have my deep appreciation for being such good writers & bloggers.  I hope to learn from all of you.

Miscellany Monday

The screw!

This is what I thought I would be doing after they took out one of the screws in my ankle.  But it's not!!!
It still hurts, and I feel tired and shaky.  The doctor said that anesthesia is still in my system.  It is a weird feeling.
Well I am home and my foot is elevated again for 48 hours.  I can hobble around a little, but I don't feel steady.

                                             The Laundry Room

                                             

                          The basketball net is for our grandson Connor.

As you will be able to see, we have not done anything with our Laundry room yet.  We downsized a few years ago to a small retirement community, so everything is on a smaller scale.  We have been looking at tile and paint for that room, so when it is done I would love to re post.

They are calling for 4 - 8 inches of snow tonight here in the north.  I can't believe how much snow the south is getting!  Please be careful driving down there.

Computer Help!

Well, I finally learned how to grab every one's buttons.  Ho, that doesn't sound to good, but you know what I mean in the blogging world.  I was having an awful time with this.  Now two of my sons are in the IT business, so I finally Skyped him and asked him to help me.  He logged into my computer to see what I was talking about, and told me step by step how to do this.  So now I have that down.
I just have a question.  Are the button's what I use when everyone talks about "link up" to my blog?  I would appreciate any help.  Thanks!

The Ankle

Well, I went to the doctors office yesterday.  I have been feeling so strong I thought for sure he would tell me that I could start walking.  To my disappointment he said not for another week.  I am now scheduled for surgery to remove one of the 7 screws that was placed in my ankle.  There are 6 small screws and one long screw, that is the one that has to come out.  Then I will have therapy for a while.  I can't wait!  Although I can't believe how quickly time has gone by.  It has been 10 weeks!

I spend a lot of time on my laptop.  I don't know how I am going to keep up with everything once I get back to work.
Oh well, it's time to watch The People's Choice Awards.
