Gift Wrapping

Today I would like to talk about gift wrapping.  I was wondering how everyone likes to wrap their gifts at Christmas, or any other time for gift giving.

We can start out by looking at some of the ways to store your wrapping essentials.  It would be wonderful if we all had  craft room like these....

I would love to have one of these high tables in my office/craft room.  Love the colors, the green walls and white furniture looks lovely together.  I think I could really create in this room.

This room looks great, love the chair, looks so comfortable.  I think she bought those cubes and built a craft table/desk.  I saw them in Michael's and AC Moore.  Very functional.

I like how this lady has a table for everything!  Craft table, sewing table, and I see another table back there.  She is very serious about her craft.  So organized.

This room is so feminine.  Love the pink walls with white and green furniture.  The shelving looks awesome with her fabric all folded up.  I see some handbags over there on the desk, I wonder if she made them?
I really love those frame handbags!

This is a nice area for your crafts.  It looks like there is peg board on the wall, which is awesome!  You can hang anything on that wall.  I think my favorite thing in this room is the tall basket with the wrapping paper in it!  I would love to find one of those.

Gift Wrapping Station
I really like how this lady stored all of her ribbon.  I have something similar to this, and I love how you can keep all the ribbons at hand.  You can see what you have right there.

Now this is a cool way to store your wrappings.  It is quite handy when you don't have a lot of space to spare.  You know where everything is that you need to wrap with.  When done, close the door!

I have seen this done so many times.  A closet craft room.  You can really have fun with this kind of space.  I have seen it decorated so many different ways.  After you are done, just close the door on this one as well.

Talk about good use of shelves.  I love the organization.  It looks so neat and clean.  Looks like she has ribbon along the side.  What a great idea.

I really love how this storage unit looks.  It looks like the drawers pull out and everything is right there, ready and waiting.  Notice the shape of the drawers.  It looks like they were custom made for this unit.  And decorated so nicely.

This looks like it was built right in the closet.  I especially love how she stored her wrapping paper.

This is great for people who do not have the room to hang or spread out their wrapping material.
Handy too, just slide it under the bed!

What a great idea for ribbon.  You can carry it to where ever you need to wrap.

Think I went a little longer then I expected to go with this.  Tune in tomorrow for the pretty wrappings for gift giving.  There are so many great ideas out there, I know you will love seeing them.
Until then, have a great evening!

Keeping busy!

Hello!  how is everyone doing?  One more day until the weekend, which I know everyone looks forward to.
I visited the library yesterday and wanted to get "The Help", all 200 copies were out!  I am number 64 on the list.  I may just have to buy a used copy from Amazon.

My neighbor and I decided to start a book club for our little neighborhood.  I sent out an email yesterday and so far received 2 RSVP.  I think it will be fun to get together once a month.  I would like to start out reading The Help, and then maybe we can all go and see the movie.  I have never belonged to a book club.  I take it you all read the chosen book and get together and discuss it, and then choose a new book for the next month.
Publishing and Self-Publishing...
Of course we will have snacks as well.  I will have to come up with some diet snacks because everyone is on a diet around here.  Something healthy

Oh, I wanted to show you what I have been working on to keep busy, besides reading.

Aren't they the cutest flip flops ever!

I went to Old Navy and bought some flip flops and decided they needed some cuteness to them.  What do ya think?  Since I made a craft area in my office, I had everything I needed there.  I did purchase some more ribbon and jewels.

I think they are cute for the summer.  Easy to slip on and run out, with a little style!

What is everyone doing this weekend?  Anything special?  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, even though it is going to be hot, hot, hot, stay cool!

Life in the fast lane.....

I would really love to post something every day, but I seem to run out of time.  I love reading every one's post and by the time I am done reading, I am out of time.  So I will just do a run through  what has been going on around here.

Sunday we went to our Son and daughter's in laws house in the city for her birthday dinner.  It was the first time I had seen their apartment since they moved in October.  They live on the third floor and I couldn't manage the steps until now.  It was so nice, perfect for them.  It is quaint and has so many great little features.  It is a brownstone that was made into apartments.  I just don't think I could deal with the traffic every day.  They just love it, and it is a wonderful area in Rittenhouse Square.  Dinner was delicious and it is always nice to get together with the family.

Tudo o que

Monday I had a wonderful massage!  I had a gift certificate from Christmas that I was dying to use but I have been afraid to go because of my ankle.  I thought what the hay.  I just told her not to work in that area, it is still very tender.  And it was lovely!

I came home and hubby was putting the tile up in our laundry room.  I am so excited to be almost done with that room.  I think it looks great.

Tuesday I had therapy and I really tried to push hard with my exercises.  After dinner we went out to walk.  Some of our neighbors were walking and it's so much more fun walking with other people.  It really makes the time go faster.  You get to catch up on the news in the community.  By the time we were done walking I was really limping.  I think I did a little too much that day.

That brings us to today, Wednesday.  I had a doctor's apt. this morning.  Hubby finished grouting the tile and I started to get my new printer out of the box.  Oh my, after I put it together I started to read the quick start manual and I was lost.  Time to invite one of my son's to dinner!  No. 1 son said he would come to dinner and of course he would get my printer started for me, (thank God)!  We had a lovely dinner and he is very excited about going to the Phillies home opener on Friday.  I hope he dresses warm, because now it is calling for rain & SNOW!  Come on, it's April!!!  We have two storms headed our way!  What about the groundhog and his shadow?

My office is almost done.  I still can't find fabric/drapes for the windows that I like or that is reasonable enough.  Also still looking for a bulletin board.  Pictures soon to come.

Home Tour Tuesday

Photobucket
Good afternoon everyone!  Today I am following Daphne from Flip Flops and Pearls girl, and Shannon from Webbisodes with their Home Tour Tuesday.  The room we are doing is the Home Office.
My office is still a work in progress.  When I am done, I will post the finished produce, but for now here we go, as is.
This is my desk where I do most of my work.  Write notes, blog etc.  My son gave me the desk when he moved into his new office.  He wanted a more modern desk, so Mom gets the hand me downs.  The shelves are from Ikea.

Since the room was already painted last year when it was a Guest room, I really didn't want to paint it again, or lets say, my hubby didn't want to paint it again. Now on the other side of the room is my craft desk.  This is where I scrapbook and craft things.  I am looking for a large bulletin board.  I have recently discovered on some other blog sites some ideas on making one, so I think I will try it.  That will go next to the shelves.

I am going to paint this chair white and put a cushion on it after I find the drapes I want for the room.  I think it needs a pop of color and I was thinking of lime drapes, what do you think?

And of course I had to add pictures of my sweet Grand kids, Megan and Connor.

I found this cute picture at Home goods.  I thought it was just girlie enough to add to the Ladies office.

This picture was from our 25th anniversary trip to Las Vegas.  Oh, yes, that was my body from way back, never!

This picture was way way back when the kids were first going to school.  That was when we only had two children so far, Jp and Stacy.  Their principal called and asked us to do a photo shoot for the local newspaper on going back to school days.  It was so much fun.  I just wish I knew enough back then to call the newspaper and ask for a copy.  That was my first Lilly skirt and top!

Well that's all I have.  I hope you enjoyed my office tour.  Hop over and join all of us.  It is so nice to get ideas from everyone.  It's our sisterhood!

Westie Wednesday!

I was working on my laptop the other night and my hubby snapped this picture of Jake.  He HAS to be on my lap!  Unless he just thinks this is his chair.  He did sit on here all the time until I had to use it for my leg.  He is still my sweetie and I love him.
The painting below I found at "Home Goods".  I had to have it, couldn't pass it up.  I put it in my office.  Speaking of my office, I am almost finished working on it.  Can't seem to find the right fabric for curtains, and I am looking for a large bulletin board at a reasonable price.

Well, thats it for Westy Wednesday.

The New Office

Well Happy Saturday everyone!  I have to get myself going.  Did not sleep well last night.  Too excited about making an office in our spare room.  It would be my "Lady Cave".  I have a beautiful cherry desk that I am working with now.  I would like to purchase two tall bookcases to flank the sides of it.  This is my big question.  I can't decide if my color for those should be black or white.  The color of the room is kind of yellowish/gold.  I would like to put in a chair and another long table for crafting, sewing etc.  I have an old buffet that I could use that for, and I would like to paint it as well.  OK, this is the question.  What color should those extra pieces ( shelves and buffet ) be, black or white?  Do I want to black and sophisticated or white and girlie?  Any sugestions ladies?  I could really use your help.

Thanks,
Susan

The Ankle

Well, I went to the doctors office yesterday.  I have been feeling so strong I thought for sure he would tell me that I could start walking.  To my disappointment he said not for another week.  I am now scheduled for surgery to remove one of the 7 screws that was placed in my ankle.  There are 6 small screws and one long screw, that is the one that has to come out.  Then I will have therapy for a while.  I can't wait!  Although I can't believe how quickly time has gone by.  It has been 10 weeks!

I spend a lot of time on my laptop.  I don't know how I am going to keep up with everything once I get back to work.
Oh well, it's time to watch The People's Choice Awards.

Have a nice evening,
Tote
