Lightroom or Picasa?

Well, I know I haven't been around much, but I have been trying to teach myself Lightroom.  I will tell you, it is not as user friendly as Picasa.  My son put it on my laptop for me and gave me a tutorial on it, and I am having a really difficult time with it.  I am loosing pictures, don't know where they went, and can't find them for the life of me.  I think it is time for me to go back to Picasa!  Which one do you use?  Advice?

Anyway I just wanted to check in and say Hello!  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, hopefully it won't rain for my grand son's baptism tomorrow.

Home Good & bedroom makeover...

My friend Joanne and I went to my favorite place yesterday, Home Goods!  She needed to get some things for her guest bathroom and I love to go over there and just look around,,,,it makes me happy!  Well, really I had something in mind.  I was explaining to Joanne that I wanted two long pictures or long mirrors to go in a specific spot in my bedroom.

They are getting ready for Halloween already!  Yes, I know fall is just around the corner, and I do remember being in retail for a million years that the department stores had Christmas up before Halloween is even over.

They had so many pretty things. 

I did end up with this cute little pumpkin.  I am excited to add it to my collection.

 I saw this beautiful trunk that would have been perfect for under the buffet in my foyer!  I was set on getting that, until I saw these......I just turned the corner and there they were!  Perfect!

Two of these cost me $44.00!  They were $29.99 but I showed the manager a few little nicks and he reduced them to $22.00 each!  I'll take them!!!  I was going to get the ones from Target, but these are larger and heavier. You see we are in the middle of doing a bedroom make over.  I have the perfect spot for them.  It was just meant to be I guess.

That's the hubby up there getting ready to paint.  Mr Fix It, he can do anything, usually.  He is starting to slow down a bit as we get older.  I don't think he enjoys it as much as he use to.

Can you guess where I am going to use those mirror's?  I will surprise y'all when we are complete!  I can't wait.  It seems to take me so long.  First I can't find what I want, or else I can't make a decision, or # 3, budget!  It will eventually get done.

Back Home.....

Well, we are back from vacation.  I love going away, but I always love coming home.  We had a wonderful time with our family!  It was fun, relaxing and hot!

Before everyone arrived on Friday.

Once everyone arrived, the men all went to play golf.

And then off to the Beach. Nieces and Nephews playing with grand kids.

The baby was so good.  Sometimes we actually took him to the beach.  Other times Grandpop stayed up at the house and babysit.

 We even took an updated family picture.  It was a little windy, so I am not sure if I like the way they turned out.  I also think it was too early in the evening to take the pictures, I prefer to take pictures a little later, but we had two different families to get photographed and my daughter wanted to start earlier.  I haven't seen the pictures that everyone else was taking, so I am hoping some of them turned out better then mine.

Then, it was time for our seafood fest!  Everyone had a job.

Scallops, fish, lobster, crab, muscles along with corn, salad, baked macaroni and many more good side dishes!

Sunday night I made baked Ziti for everyone along with garlic bread and salad.  Some more relaxing along with some computer help from # 2 son.  Trying to teach me "light room" for pictures.  I think that is going to take some practice on my part!

Then it was time for everyone to say good bye, until next year!  Hubby and I stayed until Tuesday, which was wonderful.  We didn't have to sit in traffic on Sunday night!

We have to thank Andy and Nancy (sister & brother in law) for hosting our week and weekend!

Now back to reality along with laundry and cleaning!

Keeping busy!

Hello!  how is everyone doing?  One more day until the weekend, which I know everyone looks forward to. 
 I visited the library yesterday and wanted to get "The Help", all 200 copies were out!  I am number 64 on the list.  I may just have to buy a used copy from Amazon.

 My neighbor and I decided to start a book club for our little neighborhood.  I sent out an email yesterday and so far received 2 RSVP.  I think it will be fun to get together once a month.  I would like to start out reading The Help, and then maybe we can all go and see the movie.  I have never belonged to a book club.  I take it you all read the chosen book and get together and discuss it, and then choose a new book for the next month.

Of course we will have snacks as well.  I will have to come up with some diet snacks because everyone is on a diet around here.  Something healthy

Oh, I wanted to show you what I have been working on to keep busy, besides reading.

I went to Old Navy and bought some flip flops and decided they needed some cuteness to them.  What do ya think?  Since I made a craft area in my office, I had everything I needed there.  I did purchase some more ribbon and jewels.

 I think they are cute for the summer.  Easy to slip on and run out, with a little style!

A Wake Up Call.........

I was reading through blog land today and came across Kathysue's " Good Life of Design" http://goodlifeofdesign.blogspot.com/ she posted this great reminder that we all need to remember once in a while when we are out of sorts.

It makes ya think doesn't it.  It made me think, that's for sure.  Deep down we are all thankful, I know, but sometimes we just need to bring it up front and forward.

Dinner Party

Hello all, and happy Friday to you.  I have to tell you about this awesome nail hardener.  Of course it was recommended by Hoda Kope and Kathy Lee on the Today show.  I use to have my nails done with the Gel overlay for years.  Since I had my moped accident I have let my nails grow out and have used this product.  I am surprised how well this works.  I use to use Nailtiques whenever I let my nails grow naturally.  This product is def better!  Let me know what you think.

What do y'all have planned for the weekend?  We are having a dinner party Saturday night.  Just casual with some people from our little community.  I am making Baked Ziti with my homemade sauce.  This time I am going to add some sausage and a pork roast, which will fall apart perfectly.  Garlic bread and salad.  Something lite for dessert, Banana Cream pudding.  It should be a nice evening.  Well, I better go, I have so much to get done for tomorrow.

Fun Weekend

Well hello all, I hope everyone had a nice weekend! We did, we traveled to Townsend's Inlet, in New Jersey to visit my sister in law and brother in law. My husbands brother. We are so fortunate to have family that we love getting together with, and they open their lovely home to us. We arrived Friday evening and had some cocktails and snacks.

Andy and Nancy have a lovely home.  We always have out yearly family reunion's here.

Saturday we went out to breakfast at Ricks and then over to the mainland to do some shopping.  They are having some bookcases built and we were on the hunt for items to fill in after the books are placed.

The bottom doors and drawers are not on the unit yet.  It is still in progress and I will definitely show you the finished product later this spring.  We hit some Antique shops and the Wicker store.  The wicker store has some very reasonable pottery and bird houses that I of course picked up for my office, which is also in progress.
After that it was so nice outside we decided to sit on the deck and enjoy the sun.

We went out to dinner at a fun bar, Yesterdays, outside Ocean City.  They have the best Martini's!  We were planning to go to the movies, but we were having such a good time, we decided not to go.

Sunday was a relaxing day.  We decided to go for a walk on the beach.  It was so windy that you can see the sand blowing in the pictures, well almost.

They have adopted the cutest little schnauzer.  His name is Sam.  He is only 12 weeks old, and so far he loves the beach.  He was covered in sand from the wind by the time we were done walking.
Sunday evening was the Academy awards of course, which was kind of a disappointment.  I think they need a seasoned host who can ad lib when something funny happens.  Just my opinion.

Monday we headed home.  All in all, it was a relaxing weekend with good friends.  Friday I will be heading back down for our ladies weekend.  It will be sister in laws, cousins, daughters, and daughter in laws.  We have the T Ladies weekend every year in March.  We shop, eat, movies, and of course drink some wine.  It is so nice to just relax and catch up with each other.  That will be another blog.

Happy Saturday!

It's the weekend, and every time I put something on Face book about the weekend my kids always have a comment how everyday could be a weekend for me, since I have been out of work.  I would love to get back to work, but I think I need to walk a little better!  This ankle and knee have been the bane of my existence!  I promise I will never ride another moped again!

Today has been very windy.  On the news they are saying 45 - 50mph!  I don't know why but wind scares me!  I can put up with rain or snow but wind seems more dangerous to me.  I have these images of roofs blowing off houses!  That is always the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear strong wind, isn't that crazy!

Do you every wonder where we get these feelings from?  I do, sometimes wondering if there is something deep in my mind from a previous life about the wind that disturbed me.  Oh, who knows, I think I worry too much about silly stuff!

I have a list of things that I would like to get done today, so maybe I should get started. 

 I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing weekend, or productive if you so choose.
