New Years Eve

Well, tomorrow is New Years eve, and my hubby and I will be having a nice quiet evening together.  When the kids were younger we would take them all out for Chinese food early in the evening, then we would go home and watch the ball fall.  We continued to do this even when the kids were older except when we got home they would all go out and we would still stay home and watch the ball fall.  As you can see nothing much has changed except the fact that we are a lot older, now I hope we just stay awake long enough to see the ball fall.  Oh, that's another thing, I don't think it is a ball anymore, isn't it an apple or something like that?

New Years day the family will be coming to our house so we can have our annual Sauerkraut and Pork dinner.  It is supposed to bring luck to your family in the new year.  You see this is my German origin coming out, even though I make more Italian food then German food, much to my dad's chagrin.

Well, I just would like to wish you and your family a wonderful prosperous New Year!  Talk to you all in 2011~

  2. We took the kids out for Chinese! We then had dessert at 10:00... apple pie a la mode... I am on glass #2 of my champagne... in PJs in front of the fire and wondering who will make it til Midnight... most likely the kids. I am struggling to keep my eyes open!

  5. I hope you had a lovely NYE, and a delish meal on Saturday :) We did pork, greens and black eyed peas. I've never done that before, and I'm hoping that it REALLY will bring me good luck in 2010.

AND...your staying in sounds absolutely delightful to me! This running around to parties and such isn't all its cracked up to be. I think next year I'll have a dinner party :-o

  7. Happy New Year!

Last year, my grandma told me it was a German tradition to eat pickled herring at midnight for a prosperous year. It didn't work. And it was gross.
