A bird on the door is worth 2 in a nest!

Well, I was so surprised the other day when my daughter in law came in the house and said, "did you know that you have a bird & nest in your wreath on the door"?  I just couldn't believe it.  I took pictures from the inside and outside.  Check this out.

We have been leaving and coming through the garage door so as not to disturb the little soon to be mother.  There are 2 eggs in the nest.  I hope the wreath doesn't fall off the door, it has done that on occasion.  I can't wait to see the baby birds after they hatch.

You just never know where you will find the cutest things!

Thank You all!

I just wanted to wish all my blogger friends a Wonderful Holiday!  Hoping that you can all spend time with family and friends tomorrow.  Holiday's are a wonderful time to catch up with each other and laugh about funny memories.  I know when I look around the table and see all these amazing people I am in all of how fortunate we are.


 I thank God everyday for what he has allowed us to have.  I hope we all take the time this weekend to realize how lucky we are to be able to sit at a table with a bountiful feast.  I know I sometimes say that "I wish I had, I wish, I wish", but when I stop and think about it, " I have, I have, everything I need".

I also want to thank all my blogger friends for stopping by to read my thoughts.  I write about things that mean something to me.  Family, decorating, fashion and Diy projects.  Thank you all so much for such nice comments and encouragement.  It is much appreciated.

Nonna & Megan day

All I can say is we had a fabulous day, just the two of us.  Megan is my grand daughter and I just love spending time with her.  We went out to breakfast first.  We wanted to get some energy for shopping!



Then we went to Produce Junction to buy flowers for Easter.  I wanted to make some arrangements for my daughter's house since we are all going there for Easter.

  One dozen roses for $7.00!  We bought 3 dozen roses, some baby's breath,

and a few flowers for my garden.  It gets so crowded in the parking lot, thankfully I found a space as soon as I pulled in.  It is amazing how friendly people are around a holiday.  It was so nice, everyone was commenting on each others flowers they were picking out.

We took the flowers home and put them in water right away, and headed back out for some more shopping! 

Megan found a pair of white sandals that she loved, and said they would match her Easter dress perfectly.  Of course Nonna had to buy them for her.  I just said it was the first part of her birthday present since we are celebrating her 7th birthday on Easter.  She thinks that her birthday lasts for a whole week!  It sure does seem that way.  Then Nonna had to find a pair of jeans.  Everyone keeps teasing me about how short my everyday jeans are.  I found 3 pair, and believe me I have a very hard time finding jeans.  I do have a couple of nice pair of jeans, but they are just a little too tight right now!

The diet starts Monday!!!

Back home we both worked in my office for a while.  She made her mom & dad a very nice Easter card, and I did some blog reading.  Then we made flower arrangements.  I made three arrangements from all those flowers.  I forgot to take pictures!  I will get some pic's on Easter.  I hope they last that long!  Next it was time for a Mani & pedi for Megan.  We picked a pretty pink. She was so excited and said that she was all set for Easter!
    I think I enjoy her so much because she is such a "girly girl".  After raising 3 boys and 1 daughter, we really needed to get more girls in the family and thankfully Megan is it so far.  We have a grandson and another grandson on the way.  I sure hope we get more girls when the other two married son's start having children.  God knows when that will be!  Don't get me wrong, there is nothing like a mother and son's love, but girls are just girls, and we have more in common.  Things to share and do that boys don't really want to do.

My daughter picked Megan up around 6:30, and I miss her already.  We are really looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.

Sometimes we just need a day.....

I can't believe it has been a week since I have posted!  I have been a bad blogger friend.  I am sorry. But I just wanted to tell you about a day I just needed to take, A Beauty Day.  It has been 6 months since I had my wonderful vacation accident, that being said, it has also been 6 months since I have had a Mani & pedi.  With my ankle being so sensitive I have been hesitant to get a pedi.  I should have had a Mani but I just didn't want to spend the money.  But today was the day!  I had my hair cut and highlighted and then my Mani and pedi, and I loved every minute of it.  Sometimes we just need to pamper ourselves.

It was a wonderful day even though it was down pouring outside. Had a nice dinner with the hubby and now the day is over.  Tomorrow is another day....

The story of my Life!

 Well I decided to play along with Emptynester over at Empty Nest today.  She is so funny and such a great writer.  You should hop over and check her out. http://emptynest1.blogspot.com/  Her friend started this blog hop Wednesday Words of Weight Loss, check her out too. http://www.everydayruralty.com/I guess you just really answer the questions, and while you are in the process of doing that, it really makes you think about why we eat.  Ever since I had my children I have kept a little bit of weight on.  Don't get me wrong, I have lost weight at one time or another.  I know I can do it because I have done it before.  It is all a mind set that you have to put yourself in.  I love being thinner because I just feel better.  Since I have had my accident, it has been really hard to do anything.  You can read about my accident  here . My ankle seems fine, just stiff, but it's the knee that is giving me the most trouble.  When you have a fractured knee, they really don't do anything about it.  It has to heal on it's own.  So it depends on the day, sometimes I limp and sometimes I don't.  What I am really saying is that it is hard to exercise right now, which has not helped my weight, not one little bit!  So these are the questions for this week. 1. Are you happy with your recent attempts at healthy eating?
Not really.  I need to eat more vegetables.  My sweet tooth has been out of control.


2. Do you ever put off things because you don't want to do them unless you look/feel better?
Yes, we have a wedding to go to in May, and I should really look for a dress, I am not sure if any of the ones I have still fit me.  I would like to look 15lbs thinner.  Do you know where I can get a dress like that?


3. Did you get all dressed up for Easter when you were a kid?
Oh yes, Easter hat, gloves and all.  It was a very special day and everyone I knew wore a new outfit.

4. Do you have more of an appetite in warm weather or cold weather?
It really doesn't matter, I seem to like all seasons to eat.  The summer does make you think a little more because you are not all bundled up in sweaters, so people can see if you have a little muffin top!


5. Have you done anything this past week that you could describe as "being kind to yourself"?
I am kind to myself every morning when I take the time to read what my blogger friends have to say.  I have learned so much from all of you.  You have inspired me to refinish furniture, be more aware of my eating habits, decorating my home with new ideas, and learn how to take great pictures.  I am kind to myself by learning new things through all of you.  Thank you all so much!

One down, 4 to go!

Wahoo, I am done my end table that I was working on.  I think it came out pretty good.  I found the cutest knobs at Anthropology.  I will start with the before picture~

This was one of our end tables that we bought when we were first married.  Sentimental value, so I really wanted to use it somewhere since it is 36 almost 37 years old!

I thought I would paint it white and use it in our guest room.  After I painted it I put a wax on it.  I think I expected it to come out a little shinier.

I also distressed it a little as well.

If anyone has any advice on a shinny wax, I would love to know about it.

I have 4 other pieces that I want to work on, so as I finish them I will def post pictures.  I do appreciate constructive criticism.
