A bird on the door is worth 2 in a nest!

Well, I was so surprised the other day when my daughter in law came in the house and said, "did you know that you have a bird & nest in your wreath on the door"?  I just couldn't believe it.  I took pictures from the inside and outside.  Check this out.

We have been leaving and coming through the garage door so as not to disturb the little soon to be mother.  There are 2 eggs in the nest.  I hope the wreath doesn't fall off the door, it has done that on occasion.  I can't wait to see the baby birds after they hatch.

You just never know where you will find the cutest things!

  2. Oh how fun!
My Daddy had the cutest little Finch house he built! It was complete with a peephole for observing. He would have been tickled with you wreath! Thanks for sharing.

  3. That is so cute! That happened to me once but it sort of scared me as we have a large overhang and the bird would freak and try to fly away every time we would walk in and out of the door.

  4. Oh so cute!!! Do you read Kelly's Korner blog? She too has a bird nesting on her front door wreath right now, and when she opened the door the bird flew right in her house! Eeek- that would kind of scare me, but how fun it would be to look out the door like you can and watch over those two little eggs!

  6. Oh, we've had so many birds in our house over the years and they scare me too death. I finally quit putting up grapevine weathes to hopefully prevent the birds from building nests in them. So far it's worked. :o) Happy week!

  7. Wow, your bird makes my bird look downright ordinary. That is fantastic. I love that your bird is creative and decided to add to the wreath's already great looks.
