Joined the Library...

OK, I finally joined the Library.  I kept telling myself I really need to join, so I did yesterday.  I haven't been in a library in forever!  They look the same.  I guess Libraries don't change much except for the computers they have added.  I did notice that it isn't as quiet as I remember.  People seem to be talking all over the place.  I thought when you were in a library you were supposed to speak in a whisper, if you had to talk at all.  I noticed that some people come to the library just to read the newspaper.  Some of the people on the computers were on Facebook, some were playing games.  As much as some things that change, some things stay the same.

I know many of you probably have Kindles or Ipads to read books on, but that can get expensive as well as buying books.  I think the library might be just the thing for me.  They even have book sales, bring a bag and fill it up for $5!  That should keep me busy for a while.
For some reason I seem to read more books in the summer.  Once the fall and winter comes along I never seem to be able to find the time to read as much.  Why is that?
When do you read?  Some people just read before bed.  I feel a little guilty to sit down during the day and take the time to read.  I feel like I should be doing something else around the house.  Why is that?  I realize you have little ones around you are busy every minute, bedtime may be the only quiet time that you get to read.  That is if you can keep your eyes open long enough, I do remember that.

Let me know when you like to read, and if you use and buy books or kindles, or use libraries.

Have a wonderful weekend, looks like we are going to have some good weather until the Heat Wave starts next week!

  1. I've been a fan of the library for several years now. It started out as a way to cut expenses, because after I read a book, I seldom read it again. I can't always get a book when it first comes out, but I simply put my name on a waiting list and it is mine within a few weeks.

  2. My GrandMoore (my dad's mom) was the town librarian and I spent tons of time in there reading everything I could get my hands on! I don't go to the library anymore because there is ZERO quiet. Kids are running amuck and yelling and everyone else is chatting up a storm. UGH.

No Kindle or anything for me. I prefer a real book. I'm reading Half-Assed, Under the Dome, and The Geography of Nowhere right now. I never have just one book going at a time.

  3. I'm a huge library fan--whenever I go I just fill my arms up with books! I tend to try and read before bed and then randomly will other times throughout the day. I usually read more during the summer as well, but this summer, I have been slacking!

  4. We have a wonderful library right up the street, they have just expanded. Love to read before bed.

It is also super that you can take out movies from the library now!

  5. Like you said, buying books (whether e-books or paper) gets expensive so I also go to our local library.

  6. I was JUST reading a FB post by Jean Chatsky, the Today Show Finance girl, and she was giving ideas of how to save money…one of the number one ways…join a library! Way to go!

  7. I need to get to the library! I have spent so much money on books this summer, and I do keep thinking it would be better to get a Kindle, but I still love the feel of a book in my hand (although everyone I know who has gotten a Kindle says I'll get over that very quickly and will fall in love with the Kindle.)

  8. Me again! I just tried to reply to your comment, but it says "no reply" instead of your email. Anyways, this is what I wrote you:

I will have to try out that series..thanks!

As for the help…it's good, but not great. But everyone keeps telling me they felt that way and it got better. Its not that it's bad. At first, it definitely caught my attention, I'm on page 194 of 414 (on nook) and it's just been stalling for a while…same thing over and over. Everyone says just stick with it, it gets good…I'll let you know! I'm getting my hair done today and taking it with me!

Hope you have a great day!
